There is some Ministry of Defense land in the Frimley area which is mostly open to the public. There are some great mountain biking trails scattered across it and plenty of paths to go walkies too. However on one particularly hot summer's day, the place caught fire and went up in smoke quite convincingly.

As noted, it is officially MoD land and is regularly used for army training manouvers. Including live ammo firing ranges in the non-public ares. All of which meant it was an especially nasty job for the fire service due to there being a large amount of unexploded ordinance lying around admist the flames! A forest fire that shoots back :-(.
